When you need to take bone in quantity rather than in millimeter bites, this is the group that does it.

The Leksell is a double-action rongeur: the compound hinge multiplies your grip so the jaws bite through cortical bone without you having to crush the handle shut. Slight-curved jaws follow the contour of a lamina or an iliac crest instead of skating off it.

Alongside it sit two Horsley patterns. The Horsley bone cutter takes a straight, decisive cut through bone where a rongeur would nibble. The Horsley elephant toenail cutter, despite the name, is a serious orthopedic instrument. Its broad curved blade is made for cutting thick cortical bone in one pass.

Two lengths and five jaw widths from 1.8mm to 8mm let you match the instrument to the bone rather than the other way round. Every one is made to be serviced, sharpened and kept in the set.

If a spring loses tension, there’s no need to retire the instrument. Our rongeur replacement spring and screw sets will get it back to work.
