Ring-handled curved scissors with a 7mm blade, made for dissecting soft tissue, cartilage and in some cases dura through a tubular retractor.
MIS Curved Scissors
Description
MIS Curved Scissors
Dissection down a tube is unforgiving: the blade is far from your hand, the field is small, and there is no room to reposition. These scissors are built for that reach.
The 7mm curved blade follows tissue planes rather than cutting straight across them, which is what you want when you are separating soft tissue and cartilage from structures you would rather not open. Used carefully they will take dura as well.
Ring handles give a familiar, positive feel at the end of a long shaft, so you know where the blades are without looking. The ceramic coating holds its edge and cuts the glare a polished blade throws back under a microscope.
Primarily used in the lumbar spine, though they adapt readily to any similar minimally invasive approach. A sensible addition to any MIS spine set.
