Ferris-Smith Pituitary Rongeur
Description
Ferris-Smith Pituitary Rongeur
When the job is to clear a disc space rather than nibble at it, the Ferris-Smith is the instrument that does it in the fewest passes. The cup jaws are deliberately large, at 4mm, 5mm and 6mm, so each bite takes a real volume of disc and cartilage.
Straight jaws work down the barrel of a standard posterior or lateral approach. The angled up version lifts material off the endplate without you having to angle the whole instrument to get underneath it.
One naming note worth knowing when you are cross-referencing a catalog: the same instrument is listed by several manufacturers as the Ferris-Smith IVD rongeur or intervertebral disc rongeur. It is the same pattern.
Made from surgical-grade stainless steel with our black non-glare finish, and built to be serviced and resharpened rather than replaced.
