Rotating Kerrison Rongeur
Rotating the instrument in your hand to reach a different angle costs you the grip you had and the view you were using. A rotating shaft lets you leave both alone.
The swivel turns a full revolution and holds its position, so you can bring the jaw to the bone at whatever angle the anatomy asks for and keep cutting. The 14mm opening takes a large bite, and the 40° up geometry is the general-purpose angle for laminectomy work in neuro, orthopedic and spine cases.
The shaft also detaches. That is a sterile processing feature as much as a surgical one: with the shaft off, the channel can be seen, brushed and verified rather than assumed clean. The ejector clears each bite so debris does not travel back into the jaw.
Black non-glare coating throughout, hand finished, and built to be serviced and resharpened for years rather than replaced.
