Spurling Kerrison Rongeur
The Spurling is the big-handled Kerrison. The handle is longer and the jaw travels further, which does two things: it suits a larger hand, and it opens to 16mm rather than the 9mm or 14mm of a standard instrument.
That opening is the point. Where a standard Kerrison would need three bites, the Spurling takes one, and on a long decompression that adds up to real time and considerably less work for your hand.
Four styles cover most preferences: 40° up at 8″ with or without ejector, 90° up at 8″, and a detachable 40° up version that comes apart for inspection and cleaning. Bites run 2mm through 6mm.
Every one carries our black non-glare coating and is hand finished before it ships, and each is built to be serviced and resharpened rather than replaced.
